HOW TO MAINTAIN THE BARRIER WELL
Whether for cleaning, protection or repair, here is a list of tips to properly maintain your barriers.

Cleaning
Water-Gate barriers require very little maintenance. We recommend cleaning them after each use with clean water and a suitable disinfectant. Dirt and mould do not affect the integrity of the barrier but can cause unpleasant odours. In order to prevent the growth of mould on damp barriers, they should be adequately dried.
Protection
Ultraviolet rays remain the most harmful element for the barrier components. Prolonged exposure of the product to UV rays will affect its durability. The use of crates is strongly recommended. However, the materials used during manufacturing are identical to truck tarpaulins and can withstand extreme conditions.

Velcro Fasteners
Pay special attention to the Velcro fasteners. These must be cleaned adequately to prevent infiltration. In fact, when improperly cleaned, debris trapped in the fastening system will prevent it from being completely sealed, and thereby create a path through which the water will leak.
Repair
If the barrier tears, it can be easily repaired, even if it is in use. Simply put a piece of PVC inside the barrier. The pressure of the water will exert force and seal the tear. For permanent repair of the barrier, use an additional piece of PVC and a polyurethane adhesive (2 sides) to seal the tear. The necessary equipment can easily be found in most conventional hardware stores.
